Sopore ( J&K ) : In a meaningful initiative aimed at fostering a culture of responsible and disciplined driving, a comprehensive Road Safety Awareness Rally and Programme was organized in Sopore as part of Traffic Awareness Month, under the ongoing Traffic Awareness Week. The event witnessed spirited participation from students and cyclists representing various schools of Sopore, reflecting growing public commitment towards road safety.
The programme was graced by ARTO Baramulla, Mr. Mudassar Wani, as the chief guest, whose presence added significance and encouragement to the initiative. The awareness rally passed through key and busy market areas of Sopore, effectively conveying the message of road safety to commuters and the general public, before culminating at the RTO Office Baramulla (Sopore).
Subsequently, a well-structured awareness programme was conducted wherein drivers, youth, and schoolchildren were sensitized about traffic regulations, road discipline, and safe driving practices. Interactive sessions highlighted the shared responsibility of citizens in ensuring safer roads.
While addressing the gathering, ARTO Mudassar Wani eloquently underscored the importance of strict adherence to traffic laws as a vital step towards reducing road accidents. He strongly appealed to the youth to refrain from stunt biking and unlicensed driving, while stressing the mandatory use of helmets and seat belts. Highlighting the tragic loss of precious lives in road accidents each year, he urged the public to adopt responsible road behaviour and contribute actively to saving lives.
The programme concluded on an inspiring note, with a collective pledge by participants to follow traffic rules and promote road safety awareness within society, reinforcing the message that safe roads are a shared responsibility.
