Jammu, Jan 26, : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday unfurled the National Flag at the Union Territory-level Republic Day function held at MA Stadium in Jammu to mark the 77th Republic Day.The Lieutenant Governor inspected the Republic Day parade contingents and took the ceremonial salute. The march past featured disciplined participation by contingents from the Army, Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, Sashastra Seema Bal, Indian Reserve Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police, UT Disaster Response Force, Fire and Emergency Services, Forest Protection Force, Excise and Taxation Department, ex-servicemen, NCC cadets, Bharat Scouts and Guides, and several school contingents. Brass and pipe bands from the Army, BSF, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and school band troops also participated.The celebrations showcased the developmental and cultural ethos of Jammu and Kashmir through a series of tableaux based on themes including Operation Sindoor, Mission Yuva, Road Safety, Nasha Mukt J&K, Shram ko Samman, Saral Kar, Sashakt Bharat, and Food Safety. The audience also witnessed a motorcycle acrobatic display by the Jammu and Kashmir Police Dare Devils, along with cultural performances reflecting the Union Territory’s diverse heritage.Earlier in the day, the Lieutenant Governor visited the Police Martyrs Memorial and the Balidan Stambh, where he laid wreaths and paid tribute to personnel of the Police, Army, and Central Armed Police Forces who laid down their lives in service to the nation.Senior civil, police and military officers, public representatives, and citizens attended the Republic Day function at the stadium.
