Bandipora, January 29, 2026:As part of the Public Outreach Programme and in furtherance of the Government of UT J&K’s initiative to strengthen police–public relations, Bandipora Police today organised Thana Diwas at all Police Stations across the district. The programmes were chaired by the respective jurisdictional police officers, who interacted with members of the public and patiently listened to their grievances and concerns. The officers assured the participants that genuine issues related to the local police would be addressed at the earliest, while matters pertaining to other departments or higher offices would be taken up through appropriate channels for timely redressal.During the interactions, participants were urged to extend full cooperation to the police in maintaining peace and public order in their respective areas. They were also encouraged to assist in identifying anti-social and anti-national elements, particularly those involved in drug trafficking and other unlawful activities. Emphasis was laid on exercising caution while using social media, and participants were sensitised about cyber crimes and ways to remain vigilant against online frauds. The general public appreciated the proactive efforts of Bandipora Police in maintaining a peaceful and secure environment and requested that such interactive meetings be organised more frequently to further strengthen police–public relations.
