Gurez, Jan 30: The annual Gurez Snow Cricket Premier League (GSCPL) 2026, organised by the Indian Army after fresh snowfall in the region, entered its third day on Friday, delivering another round of high-energy contests on the snow-clad grounds of Gurez.In the first match, Dawar Cricket Club (DCC) won the toss and elected to bat, posting a competitive 97 runs in 12 overs. Snow Warriors Gurez struggled in response and were restricted to 46 runs, handing DCC a commanding 51-run victory. Javed was declared Man of the Match for his decisive 35-run contribution.The second match saw Chorwan 11 win the toss and bat first, setting a total of 85 runs. Kanzalwan 11 showed resistance but fell short, managing 74 runs in the allotted overs. Chorwan 11 clinched the match by 11 runs, with Ayoub earning the Man of the Match award for a remarkable spell, taking five wickets.In the third encounter, AGS NCC Dawar put up 75 runs on the board. Izamarg 11 displayed confident batting and chased the target in 10.2 overs, securing an eight-wicket win with ten balls to spare. Umar was named Man of the Match for his all-round performance, scoring 30 runs and taking a wicket.The snow-covered Gurez valley once again turned into a vibrant sporting arena as GSCPL 2026 continued to highlight the region’s passion for cricket, drawing players and spectators alike despite harsh winter conditions.
