Jammu, 04 February: An Indian Army soldier lost his life on Wednesday evening after a Tata Tiago car (registration number JK14G-5411) plunged from the Sawni Link Road onto the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) near Dalwas in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district.According to official sources, the vehicle was travelling from NH-44 towards Sawni village via the link road when it skidded off the road and fell nearly 200 feet onto the highway below.Station House Officer (SHO) P/S Chanderkoot, Jatinder Singh Rakwal, said that Jammu and Kashmir Police rushed to the accident site immediately after receiving information. However, the driver died on the spot due to the severe impact.The body was later shifted to District Hospital Ramban for medico-legal formalities.The deceased was identified as Sohan Singh, son of Bihari Lal, a resident of Madda, Tehsil Chenani, District Udhampur. He was around 35 years old and was serving in the Indian Army, the SHO confirmed.Further investigation into the incident is underway.
