Gurez, Feb 11: The Gurez Snow Cricket Premier League (GSCPL) 2026—organised by the Indian Army’s 16 Assam unit—witnessed high-voltage semi-final encounters on Wednesday as crowd from across the valley gathered to enjoy the unique snow cricket spectacle.
A total of 30 matches have been played in the tournament so far, with locals turning out in large numbers to support the teams and celebrate the winter sports spirit in the snow-clad valley.
Semi-Final 1: Achoora 11 vs Chorwan 11
In the opening semi-final, Achoora 11 won the toss and opted to field first. Chorwan 11 posted a competitive target of 120 runs in 20 overs.
Achoora 11, however, faltered in the chase and were bundled out for 102 runs in 18 overs, handing Chorwan 11 a win by 18 runs.
Zaid delivered an all-round performance—taking three wickets and contributing 27 runs—earning him the Man of the Match award.
Semi-Final 2: SMCC Markoot vs Dangithal 11
In the second semi-final, Markoot won the toss and elected to bat. SMCC Markoot managed to put up 52 runs in 14 overs before losing all wickets.
Dangithal Lions, in response, fell short despite a gritty attempt, scoring 46 runs in 18 overs.
SMCC Markoot sealed a narrow 6-run victory, with 12 balls to spare.
Sohaib, who claimed four wickets, was named Man of the Match.

With the semi-finals concluded, the stage is now set for the grand finale scheduled on February 16, featuring:
