Bandipora, February 16: In a commendable humanitarian initiative, the Indian Army’s Bandipora Rashtriya Rifles (RR) under the aegis of Manasbal Sector organised a free medical camp at Kulhama village in Bandipora district, providing essential healthcare services to the local population, especially the underprivileged.
The camp witnessed active participation from villagers who availed free general health check-ups, blood pressure screenings, and basic medical treatment. A dedicated team of doctors, including a Lady Doctor from the Army and a physician from District Hospital Bandipora, attended to patients and offered consultations, medicines, and valuable medical advice.
Elderly residents, women, and children particularly benefited from the initiative, as access to regular healthcare facilities remains a challenge in some rural pockets. Free medicines were also distributed among the needy.
The initiative was widely appreciated by the local residents, who lauded the Army’s consistent efforts towards community welfare and humanitarian outreach in the region. Such programmes not only address immediate medical needs but also strengthen the bond between the Army and the civilian population.
The medical camp reflects the continued commitment of the Indian Army to serve the people beyond its primary security role, contributing positively to the overall well-being of society in Bandipora.
