New Delhi, India March 26: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit West Bengal on March 28 as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) intensifies its political outreach ahead of the upcoming elections.
During the visit, Shah is scheduled to address a major press conference where he will formally release a chargesheet against the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government. According to sources in the Bengal BJP unit, the document will outline the party’s allegations related to corruption, administrative lapses, governance failures, and deteriorating law and order under TMC rule.
The chargesheet is expected to detail issues such as alleged irregularities in recruitment processes, financial mismanagement, and what the BJP terms “systemic failures” across various sectors. Senior leaders indicate that the party aims to present a comprehensive account of what it considers long-standing governance deficits.
In addition to the chargesheet, the BJP will also unveil a White Paper summarising 15 years of what it describes as “misgovernance and corruption” under the Trinamool Congress. The White Paper is likely to include data-based assessments, case studies, and sector-wise analyses to support the party’s claims.
The BJP’s leadership is also sharpening its narrative on issues related to alleged “mafia rule” in the state. Party functionaries have reiterated that, if elected, the BJP will take stringent action against illegal networks involved in coal, sand, and stone extraction, and ensure transparent resource management.
Preparations are simultaneously underway for the BJP’s election manifesto for West Bengal. The document is expected to be released in the first week of April, with April 5 currently under consideration. The manifesto will outline the party’s governance roadmap focusing on development, infrastructure expansion, employment opportunities, law-and-order reforms, and welfare initiatives.
