Srinagar, March 29: The Jammu & Kashmir Teachers Forum, affiliated with AISTF, has welcomed the clearance of long-pending cases related to GP Fund withdrawals, retirement benefits, leave encashment and other employee dues till December2025, terming it a major relief for employees across Jammu & Kashmir.
In a statement issued by chief Spokesperson Mr M.Ashraf.Khan , the Chairman, Mr. Mehraj-ud-Din Zargar, expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister J&K, Mr. Omar Abdullah, the worthy Chief Secretary, Mr. Atal Dulloo (IAS), and the Additional Chief Secretary, Finance, Mr. Shaikendra Kumar (IAS) for understanding the genuine concerns of employees and ensuring timely clearance of these important cases.
He said that for many employees, GP Fund and allied dues remain the only dependable source to meet the medical expenses of ailing parents, education and marriage of children, and other urgent family needs. He added that employees had been facing extremely difficult times in the recent past due to prolonged delays in the release of GP Fund, retirement benefits and leave encashment, and therefore the clearance of a large number of cases in a single meeting has been widely appreciated by both the leadership and employees across J&K.
Mr. Zargar expressed hope that the GP Fund withdrawal process will now be made simple and employee-friendly as it used to be earlier, so that employees can access their rightful dues without unnecessary delay or procedural hardship.
General Secretary JKTF, Mir Bashir Ah, while endorsing the statement, said that employees are not seeking any favour, but only the timely release of their own hard-earned and legitimate dues, and urged the Government to establish a permanent and time-bound mechanism for such cases.
