Jammu, Jan 28: G.M. Shaheen, State President of Janata Dal (United), Jammu & Kashmir, has welcomed the decision of the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Atal Dullu to grant Quasi-Permanency to PM Package employees.
Calling it a historic and humane step, Shaheen said the order ends years of uncertainty faced by PM Package employees, especially those from the Kashmiri Pandit community, who have continued to serve for a long time without job security.
He said the decision is not just an administrative order but a strong message of justice, stability and respect for workers. Shaheen added that the move will provide employees institutional recognition, financial stability and mental relief after working for more than a decade under stressful conditions.
Shaheen said the order will also strengthen the rehabilitation process of Kashmiri Pandits and other displaced persons by ensuring a secure and dignified environment for their return and settlement in the Valley.
He urged the administration to implement the order in a transparent, time-bound and uniform manner so that no eligible employee is left out.
Shaheen reiterated that Janata Dal (United) will continue to raise issues related to displaced employees, youth and marginalized sections until their concerns are addressed.
He expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Secretary for taking what he termed a long-pending and people-friendly decision, saying it would be remembered as a turning point for PM Package employees.
