Bandipora: Former MLA Bandipora Usman Majeed has strongly condemned the daily reports of harassment of Kashmiris emerging from different states of the country, calling them deeply disturbing and completely unacceptable.
In a statement issued today, Usman Majeed said that the Government of India and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) must intervene immediately to stop such incidents and ensure the safety of Kashmiri people living outside Jammu and Kashmir.
He also urged the Office of the Lieutenant Governor (LG), Jammu & Kashmir, to take up the issue on a priority basis and ensure that no Kashmiri is targeted, threatened, or humiliated in any part of India.
“Kashmiris are equal citizens of India and deserve the same rights, protection, and respect as any other Indian,” he said.
Usman Majeed appealed to the authorities to take strict action against those involved in harassment and to create a secure environment so that Kashmiris can live with dignity and peace across the country.
