Bandipora, Feb 12: In a swift and effective operation, the Police Post Aloosa on Wednesday seized 70 grams of charas during naka checking at Kema Crossing. The action was led by DO Police Post Aloosa, Saqib Hassan, along with his team.
Police officials said the team intercepted a suspect around 3:15 PM and recovered the contraband substance from his possession. The accused has been identified as Jamsheed Ahmad Sofi, son of Ghulam Nabi Sofi, a resident of Muradpora Magnipora. He was immediately taken into custody.
A case under FIR No. 13/2026 has been registered at Police Station Bandipora under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is in progress to ascertain the source and possible links of the accused.
Local residents have appreciated the prompt action of Bandipora Police and acknowledged their ongoing efforts to curb the drug menace in the district.
