SRINAGAR, Kashmir India Mar 23: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Monday assured that there is no shortage of fuel or LPG in the Valley, stating that sufficient stocks for 10–15 days are currently available and the supply situation is being closely monitored at multiple levels.Garg said the domestic LPG supply across Kashmir is functioning normally, with regular oversight at both divisional and district levels. “The stock position is dynamic, but at present we have adequate availability. Continuous monitoring is underway to ensure there is no disruption,” he said.
He further stated that petrol and diesel supplies remain stable, with district-level committees keeping a close watch on oil marketing companies to prevent hoarding, black marketing, or overpricing.Control rooms at district and divisional levels are actively tracking supply and distribution, while the Food and Civil Supplies Department is submitting daily centralised reports for review to avoid public inconvenience.
Responding to complaints regarding delayed LPG deliveries, the Divisional Commissioner said such cases are being addressed individually by Deputy Commissioners and concerned departments. “Teams on the ground are resolving these issues to ensure timely delivery,” he added.
Urging residents to rely on official communication, he appealed to the public to avoid rumours or unverified information. “There is no need for panic. The administration is committed to ensuring uninterrupted supply,” he said.
Students Stranded in Iran
Commenting on the situation of students from Jammu and Kashmir stranded in Iran, Garg said both the Government of India and the Union Territory administration are making sustained efforts to facilitate their safe return.
Dedicated helplines have been established, and constant communication is being maintained with parents through control rooms. “Every update received from the Government of India is being shared with the families. The Chief Minister has also assured full support,” he said.
He added that coordination between authorities and families has improved, with parents extending cooperation. “Our effort is to ensure the safe and early return of all students. We remain hopeful that the situation will be resolved soon,” he said.Garg reiterated that the overall situation is being closely monitored and that necessary measures are being taken on priority.
