Srinagar,India, Mar 24: Jammu & Kashmir is bracing for a significant spell of wet and turbulent weather as a strong Western Disturbance is forecast to affect the region between March 29 and 31.
According to Kashmir Weather Watch, widespread rain and snowfall are likely during this period, with heavy to very heavy snowfall expected over higher reaches. The intensity of the system may lead to considerable disruption in transportation, particularly across hilly terrain and major passes.
Plains and lower elevations are also expected to experience moderate to intense rainfall, with the possibility of isolated hailstorms. Meteorological inputs indicate that strong to very strong gusty winds may accompany the system, especially on March 29 and 30, raising concerns about temporary power disruptions and damage to weak structures.
